The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) provides research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries. Established in 1975, IFPRI currently has more than 600 employees working in over 50 countries. It is a research centre of CGIAR, a worldwide partnership engaged in agricultural research for development.

The Scientific and Technical Partnerships in Africa program was designed to develop and enhance stronger integration between partnerships, research and analysis in support of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) – and as part of the CGIAR response to and support for the Science Agenda for Agriculture in Africa (S3A).
